Snow, Deer, Police and Dogs🚓👮

I always say the story of my life or if it can happen it's going to happen to me.

So on Friday January 5, 24 we saw our first snow of the year. It was pretty but I'm over winter. The people down here in the South make me laugh. If snow is mentioned in the forecast you can go to Walmart or most stores and you won't find milk, eggs, bread and maybe toilet paper. I mean like they wipe the shelves out. I find it funny because snow doesn't usually last very long down here and then we're back to normal which is driving and getting around. I have lived here now 33 years and I still find how they do winter down here amusing .
So Friday night my daughter and I were coming home from Benton and she spotted a deer in a ditch on the side of the road. We turned around and soon realized that it couldn't get up (probably from a broken leg). I called AR Fish and Game to report it, as I knew it was probably going to have to be put down. As we were waiting at a little store on the side of the road, a Benton police car drove by. I took off after the car, even got to the point I was tailgating. I flashed my lights and the officer pulled over. Made contact with them and sure enough they were looking for the deer. We drove to where the deer was and parked on the side of the road with our flashers on(we were right in a curve).
As my daughter cried for the poor deer we heard two shots of a gun ring out. We could see and hear most of what was going on from our car. The officer then walked to our car. She gave her name and we told her ours. She said that one of the legs was broken. We talked for a while and learned that this was her first time having to do something like that. You could tell she was upset and emotional about it. She was even holding back tears. I told her we would pray for her and she said she would appreciate it very much. Then with her okay, I called a friend of mine to come get the deer.
Saturday night found us out driving around looking for my best friends dogs. As we drove the parking lot of the beach we encountered a Hot Springs Village Officer. I asked if I could get out of my car and show him what we were doing. He said yes and I went up to him and showed pictures of the dogs and gave him my friends information. We continued looking and then ended up driving the whole road of Goose Pond. We didn't find them. I called my friend and then went to bed after saying my prayers. I woke up to a text message saying they had come home. Thank God. Let's pray today, Sunday is a little less exciting and adventurous. Seeing I'm taking my mom to church, then out shopping who knows what I will get into. Y'all have a wonderful day and God Bless.
